Morwen Banq is originally from Brittany, France. She holds a Dance Degree from Rosella Hightower in Cannes. She moved to New York City in 1998 to continue her dance training on a two year scholarship at Merce Cunningham, where she first heard from friends that Pilates would improve her dancing and help with her lower back issues.

She received her certification in 2003 and that same year she joined both Power Pilates and Center for Movement. She quickly became a popular and trusted teacher.

In 2004 she became a full time instructor at Center for Movement. In 2005 Morwen became a Senior instructor, teacher trainer, and Director of Center for Movement's Pilates Certification Program. Since then she has trained hundreds in the authentic Joseph Pilates Method of body conditioning. She also holds a Pilates certification in pre-natal and postpartum teacher training from Anne Martens of Bella Bellies in New York. She has studied with Pilates luminaries Brett Howard, Ton Voogt, and Micheal Friitzke. She lives in Jersey City and is fluent in French and English.
